We just hosted Beyond the Ribbon: le Brunch en Blanc event, and we want to take the time to share the history of “White Parties,” how they got started, and how the most recent event went!

The History

Although White Parties have been around for years in some form or fashion, one of the largest and longest-running White Parties started in 1985 to help raise awareness of HIV/AIDS. In 1990, Palm Springs launched their White Party, and many other cities worldwide followed suit. Today, individuals come together to celebrate across the world. 

The Event

Cempa Community Care’s Beyond the Ribbon: le Brunch en Blanc took place on October 1, 2022, at Parkside Hall. This event had all the stops: Flowers from BloomHart Flower Company, Catering by Gipsy Gourmet, Music by DJ MCPRO, and creative decor from Balloon Affair. Everyone dressed in white, and the party drew 150 attendees. 

Guests enjoyed brunch and bottomless mimosas. Everyone had a great time dancing, celebrating, and coming together as a community to keep this mission strong. Check out these fun images from the event!
